Why choose Iroko decking?

  • Durable & weather-resistant,a robust hardwood with natural resistance to rot and insects.
  • Warm character,a golden-brown tone and distinctive grain that mellows attractively over time.
  • Low maintenance,long-lasting; oil only to hold the colour.
  • A classic, long established as a premium decking and joinery hardwood.

How Iroko weathers & finishing

Left untreated, Iroko silvers to grey with no loss of durability. To keep its golden-brown colour, use a decking oil (Osmo / Owatrol) — season the boards and remove mill glaze first so it penetrates, then re-coat as the colour fades. Clean back greyed timber with Net-Trol before re-oiling; never oil over greyed timber.

Sizes, profiles & fixing

We stock Iroko in a range of sizes in **smooth** and **reeded** profiles. As a dense hardwood it must be pre-drilled, use the Spax step drill with stainless steel decking screws, or Deckwise hidden fixings for a clean surface. Build on a well-drained, ventilated sub-frame.

Iroko decking cost per m²
