Why Choose Western Red Cedar?
Choosing Western Red Cedar cladding means investing in a product that combines aesthetic appeal, practical benefits, and environmental responsibility. Its timeless charm and proven performance make it a top choice for architects, builders, and homeowners alike.
Appearance
Western Red Cedar boasts a stunning array of warm hues, from light amber to rich browns, and a fine, straight grain that adds a touch of sophistication to any project.
Durability & Resistance
Extremely durable and naturally resistant to decay, moisture, and insects, this wood ensures longevity and low maintenance, making it perfect for exterior applications. We recommend you acclimatise the timber before installation by separating the boards with even support in a well-ventilated location for a couple of weeks to remove any initial moisture. After this, the boards will suffer little shrinkage or expansion.
Workability & Versatility
This cladding is suitable for vertical fit which compliments and extends the visual height of any structure, making it ideal for both modern and traditional architectural designs. Lightweight and easy to cut, simplifying the installation process for both DIY enthusiast and professionals in the trade.

Our stock isPEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) certified which guarantees our timber is sourced from sustainably managed forests. Our Cedar cladding is an eco-friendly choice, contributing to responsible forestry practices.
Profile
Our Channel Groove Vertical Fit profile offers a sleek, contemporary appearance while maintaining the natural warmth and beauty of Western Red Cedar, featuring a distinctive shadow line effect which adds depth and texture to the wall surface. The boards interlock securely, reducing gaps and potential movement overtime, simplifying the installation process and providing a seamless finish. The profile is 144mm wide including the joint, with a face of 124mm when interlocked, along with a sturdy 18mm thickness. The larger coverage can save time and labour costs as more surface area covered means less boards needed. A wider profile also gives a bold, modern, and streamlined appearance. As expected when working with natural products, sizing can vary up to 5%.

Fixings
This profile requires fixing through the face using Stainless steel nails either loose lost heads or Paslode Stainless Steel Brads. Use two fixings across the face where the cladding crosses each batten at approximately 500mm centres. DO NOT use regular nails that are not stainless steel as it will, over time, result in black streaks running down the timber caused by the iron in the nail reacting with chemicals in the Cedar.
