Specie
Thermo Ayous is Sourced from Central Africa and made from Thermally modified Obeche Hardwood. The base timber is extremely light in weight and light yellow in appearance. The Thermal modification process heats and removes moisture from the timber in a controlled manner, this in turn alters the characteristics of the timber leaving a stable, moisture-controlled, highly durable timber with a mid-brown colour pallet. The timber has Class 1 – 2 durability making it a superb option for external uses. It is extremely light at 330 kilos per m3. Competitively priced, a strong contender as an alternative to Canadian Western Red Cedar for long-term stability and durability although with a different more consistent appearance.

Due to its stable nature, this timber is perfect for all types of Stainless Steel fixings. Use either Lost head Stainless steel nails, Stainless steel brads from a nail gun or Spax Stainless Steel Façade screws.
