How Far Eastern Hardwood weathers

Like all natural timber, Far Eastern Hardwood silvers to grey over time if left untreated, with the durability unaffected. To hold its rich reddish-brown colour, apply a UV-protection oil such as Osmo UV-Protection Oil on installation and maintain it periodically. As a smooth, dense hardwood it takes a finish well.

Profiles & fixing

We stock Far Eastern Hardwood in tongue & groove (TGV) and other cladding profiles, for horizontal or vertical fixing. As a dense hardwood, fix with stainless steel on battens with a ventilation gap behind; pre-drilling helps. Matched stainless fixings available.
