Why choose Far Eastern Hardwood cladding?

  • Premium hardwood — a dense, hard-wearing timber with the quality feel of a hardwood facade.
  • Rich colour — a warm reddish-brown tone and fine, even grain that finishes beautifully.
  • Smoothly machined — worked to a high standard for a clean, refined face.
  • Sustainably sourced — from responsibly managed forests.

How Far Eastern Hardwood weathers

Like all natural timber, Far Eastern Hardwood silvers to grey over time if left untreated, with the durability unaffected. To hold its rich reddish-brown colour, apply a UV-protection oil such as Osmo UV-Protection Oil on installation and maintain it periodically. As a smooth, dense hardwood it takes a finish well.

Profiles & fixing

We stock Far Eastern Hardwood in tongue & groove (TGV) and other cladding profiles, for horizontal or vertical fixing. As a dense hardwood, fix with stainless steel on battens with a ventilation gap behind; pre-drilling helps. Matched stainless fixings available.

Far Eastern Hardwood cladding cost per m2

As a premium hardwood, Far Eastern Hardwood sits at the upper end of the cladding range — from around £45.34m². See the boards above for live per-board pricing. For another premium option compare Western Red Cedar; for a lower-cost natural-timber look, Larch or Douglas Fir.
