Types of Timber for Cladding:

Western Red Cedar

Douglas Fir & Siberian Larch

Presenting a light-golden brown, both Douglas Fir and Siberian Larch are dense, durable timbers and with a high resin content, both are particularly suitable for harsh weather conditions. These timbers are known for being budget-friendly alternatives to Western Red Cedar, however, stocks of Siberian Larch continue to slowly decrease in the UK, so we’re turning our attention more so to Douglas Fir as a like-for-like replacement.

Thermo Ayous

A thermally modified, exotic Obeche Hardwood, which undergoes a heat treatment process to enhance its durability, stability, and resistance to decay. Its smooth texture, light colour, and uniform grain make it an attractive option for modern architectural designs.

Thermowood

Another heat-treated timber for enhanced durability and stability, Thermowood is an excellent value product made from Nordic Pine with a mid-dark brown finish.

Black Barn Cladding
