Black cladding is currently a very popular trend, adding a modern and luxurious look to any building. The fashionable black finish gives a strong, eye-catching look that contrasts to surrounding plants making them stand out even more. So, let’s learn a little bit more about the trending Black Barn Cladding.

An Introduction

Our Black Barn Cladding is sourced from British Columbia Canadian Premium Lodgepole Pine, graded for the highest quality, and selected for optimised strength and stability. The timber has a natural, real-wood textured finish with a urethane-based performance coating applied for extended durability. The finish allows the natural look of the timber grain to be seen through simultaneously with a long-lasting colour finish that does not fade, enhancing the beauty of the real timber beneath.

Classic Bevel Vs. Classic Channel

Amongst our Black Barn Cladding collection, you’ll discover there are two different cuts and profiles that are applicable for horizontal installation. The first is the 24 x 136mm Classic Bevel Cladding, where the timber is cut at a sloped angle with a groove at the back of the tip so when fitting the boards, they’re able to overhang each other and create that overlapping finish. On the back, they also have relief grooves to stop the timber from bowing out at the top and bottom edges, balancing the timber to remain flat across the width.

The second is the 16 x 136mm Classic Channel Groove. The boards are a straight, flush cut, with a modern channel groove and interlocking profile. And while the front of the boards are level, the inside of this profile still has those relief grooves for an increased lifespan.

Along with the cladding, we also stock all the components to go with it to help complete your entire project. Firstly, there’s the 80 x 80mm L Section for external 90-degree corners.

Then, we have the 35 x 35mm square trim for internal 90-degree corners.

And lastly, we have the Fascia Boards that’s available in two different profiles: the 17 x 86mm, and the 17 x 136mm.

Colour

A lot of people wonder what colour is best for cladding, and this is where the appeal for a modern black finish comes in when looking at Black Barn Cladding. It gives a contemporary appearance to any building and the beautiful contrast it has to the colours around it gains a lot of attention. While this is unique in comparison to other timber cladding products, the most brilliant thing this cladding has to offer is the bespoke colouring service. It doesn’t have to be black! Although the black is in stock, available to order for immediate collection or delivery, you may be after a colour match identical to a front door, a garage door, or any custom colour you desire. This service means we’re able to match any colour upon enquiry, but please note there is a 14-week lead time so if you are interested in this, it’s best to get in touch as soon as possible.

Cost

This timber is definitely one of the most cost-effective cladding options, priced at the lower end of the market. If budgeting is a priority when shopping for your cladding, then Black Barn Cladding is one to seriously consider.

Now, it’s time to get shopping! Having introduced this cladding to our product range just last year, we’ve found Black Barn Cladding often used for larger projects like houses or large garden rooms. You can shop all our Black Barn Cladding on our website along with live stock lengths and availability. And if you’re interested in the colour matching service, get in touch with us via email or telephone.
