Moisture Content
Kiln Dried to average 18% suitable for immediate use for internal and external applications. Note for external use please allow room for expansion in wetter seasons as Kiln Dried timber can take on moisture.
Specie
Douglas Fir is sourced from North America, its botanical name is Pseudotsuga Menziesii. This Softwood is classed as moderately Durable it has an average density of 540kilos per m3 making it reasonably lightweight. The timber machines with ease is stable and easy to work with, and accepts stains and glue well. Suitable for both Interior and exterior applications. Grain is generally Straight or slightly wavy with a medium to coarse texture.
Colour
Colour can vary depending on the age and location of the tree. Usually light brown with a hit of red and/or yellow, with darker growth rings.
