One of our latest additions to the website that we hope has been a massive help to our consumers is our live stock system. Once you have clicked into a product on our website, if you click on the dropdown list for the board lengths, you will find the number of boards we have in stock next to each board length. We constantly update this throughout the day as the orders are being placed, so if the Yellow Balau 21x145 smooth 2 sides shows 140 lengths in stock next to the 2.44m lengths, you can trust that this is correct and if there are any changes to that stock level it will be updated immediately. This means you can purchase exactly what you need with guidance from us of just how much we can provide for you.

A lot of customers query about delivery charges before placing their orders so as a way to make this easier for you, we have implemented a Delivery Information page for customers to calculate delivery costs and lead times prior to checkout. No matter where you are on the website, if you scroll down to the very bottom, you’ll see the Delivery Information page under Customer Information. Once you click on it, you’re provided with a delivery cost calculator in which you can input your postcode and then click calculate. The calculator shows you the different delivery options you have depending on what you order, the cost of each one, and the lead time.

Another useful element of the website when buying decking is the Decking Volume & Decking Screw Calculator, which can also be found under Customer Information. All it asks for is the width of the area you’re decking and the length so it can then calculate the square meterage for you. Then, it will ask you to select the profile of the decking boards you have or that you’re purchasing, 21x145mm or 19x90mm. As soon as you select this, it will calculate exactly how much lineal metres you need to cover the area and an estimated number of screws required for the amount of decking. It draws up two options, one based on a 400mm frame centre and one on a 450mm frame centre. You can really take advantage of this when shopping for decking but please keep in mind that although this calculator does tell you the amount of decking required, we do recommend that you purchase 10% extra to cover wastage.

Furthermore, we have How to videos. Under most of our products you can watch videos that my colleagues and I have put together to show you how to make use of your product. For example, under one of our Yellow Balau decking products there is a ‘How to fit Yellow Balau Hardwood Decking’ video. Depending on what product you’re looking at, you’ll find the video that will best help you. We demonstrate how to do it and describe exactly what we’re doing. I’m not saying these videos are the most fun to watch, but they’re extremely helpful and worth giving a watch before starting your project.
